It's not just for WAR but all private server are illegal but how many WoW server you can see how many others games MMO private server you can find on on internet ??

It's not just the question if a server is legal or illegal. The more important question is, how hard the official right owners fight against those illegal servers.
For example all those wow-freeshards seem to be "tolerated" by Blizzard, because the number of players is much to low to make Blizzard do something against them.

I hope it will be the same way with this WAR-freeshard. It even will not pull players away from the official servers and so this project shouldn't touch Sony anyway. (I think I heard that it's Sony who buyed the war license, right?)

The difference whit WoW you can find all data and emulator system Everywhere and not for WAR we got the better emulator the most advenced .

Atm they can but after offcial server closed they will can not but i can't tell you why

The only company considering this server would be Games Workshop. As far as I know, they are really rough with poeple using their license without permission. Let's just hope they won't try to close this server...

Mythic and EA won't have anymore link with warhammer after game closure.

Actually, since all intellectual property is inside the client, one could argue that the only thing currently infringing on Gamesworkshop's rights is this forum (i. e. most of the art belongs to GW).

It's not as if the server code was a direct duplicate of the official one (seeing as how it can't even run inside Unix/Linux, it's obviously different from the official one).

Legal or not, I don't give a crap actually. I got retail version of a game and gave subscription money to these bastards and they never told us that "we will be closing by the end of 2013 because we suck horse dick" , so yes, we have a right to play this game.
