Open RVR

Ok, so I see the server is open rvr - pvp status is always on and anyone may attack you anywhere, even in pve zones. I must note, that open pvp servers had smallest population and were the first servers that got closed.

Да там много причин было, Ниш. Крабы перепутали, ганкеры с хай тир замучили и т.д. На том же Ранальде на пабликах люди врубали флаг сами.

FYI Eltharion had a massive population and lasted quite a long time. There were waaaaaay more server closures of both Core and Open RvR servers before Eltharion shut down, and that's because the devs over-estimated the number of servers needed.

I have to also question the open pvp that seems to be used. I have played games where this was available and no matter what is done there will be those who will grief the lower people. Might want to re-think this and set it back to the way the game was.

The larger Problem I have with that, is that I can't go back to t1 to redo a quest at rank 40 - just for the fun of it

The game isn't fully playably yet, but ganking in pve/spawning zones already started. ;)
Would better change the server to core, not all players enjoy being killed at the spot right after they spawn with a 1 lvl character...

In all fairness this is due to the respawn bug, not Open servers in general :)

Well, open server were famous for such kind of things. Like 20 lvl killing 3lvl's while they are doing starting quests, or at the spawn point, killing new players over and over as they respawn. Core is much better. You enter the rvr area - you know you can be killed and if it happens its gonna be totally your fault.

Yes I know I was on an open server and experienced it first hand. What was more fun was seeing the realm rally to deal with such issues. But then realm pride died a long time ago :P. I'll be the first to admit that it was annoying though. I had no issue with being RvR flagged at all times, but going down a tier during quiet times was just daft.

Personally I'd like to see a hybrid of the two systems: auto-flagged if your rank matches the bracket, otherwise you're unflagged for pvp. If you get yourself flagged by engaging in pvp in the pve zones when you've out-levelled it then it's insta-chicken. Allows people to fight anywhere without being destroyed and means high-level players can come back to early tiers to look at other PvE bits.
